- Do I need to know how to code?
- You need to be comfortable editing one JavaScript object (the config file) and running a couple of terminal commands. The README walks through both. If you can follow a recipe, you can set this up.
- What kind of business is this for?
- It ships with nail-salon sample content, but the config covers hours, services, pricing, FAQs, and policies generically, so it fits any small business that gets the same handful of questions from every customer: salons, studios, shops, clinics, and similar.
- Do I need an AI API key?
- No. Without one, a deterministic fallback answers straight from your config. The widget still works, it just won't handle open-ended phrasing as flexibly. A free Groq key (a couple of minutes to create) unlocks the full AI-grounded assistant.
- Where do I host it?
- Anywhere that runs Next.js. The README's deploy steps use Vercel because setup is a single command. Vercel's free Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial sites, so a business site needs Vercel Pro or another host that runs Next.js. You're not locked into Vercel.
